There is no better test of Character than someone who sees another giving too much or working too hard and doesn’t take advantage, but shows them gratitude and respect.
Unfortunately, most people take advantage of the person who is talented and is willing to take on more responsibility. Instead of showing appreciation to assure they continue to be an asset, continuing to take advantage only depletes the over-giver’s spirit, as they know their worth. They have been silently hoping they’d see some kind of gratitude.
It can’t be a shock one day if the star employee, family member or friend leaves the relationship. It can be a very uncomfortable period of time while trying to fill the shoes of the one who carried the heavy load.
