“Snoopy’s Christmas”

The Royal Guardsmen, a rock band from Florida, first hit it big in 1966 with “Snoopy vs. the Red Baron.”

Due to the success of that single, they released “Snoopy’s Christmas” in 1967, a holiday-themed sequel where Snoopy once again faces his nemesis, the Red Baron.

The song is inspired by the real World War I Christmas Truce of 1914, when German and Allied soldiers set aside fighting to share carols, food, and camaraderie for one night.

In the lyrics, Snoopy is shot down but spared by the Red Baron, who offers him a holiday toast instead of defeat.
